Built specifically for wave sailors seeking an ultra-light, surf-inspired ride, the Starboard ULTRA delivers rapid acceleration, smooth power delivery, and intuitive handling in real wave conditions. Designed to feel as close as possible to a pure surfboard, the ULTRA range offers explosive responsiveness, effortless turning, and confidence-inspiring control whether riding side-shore, onshore, or down-the-line.
The latest evolution introduces refined shaping on the ULTRA 82 and 86, featuring a narrower tail outline, increased Vee, and sharper rails positioned 45 cm from the tail. These updates significantly improve early planing, boost top-end speed, and deliver even more precise, connected turns on the wave face. The result is a faster, looser, and more reactive board that excels when conditions demand instant response.
Across the entire range, the ULTRA remains true to its proven DNA. A fast, narrow outline combined with a radical rockerline allows aggressive front-foot riding while minimising nose dives in critical sections. Super-thin rails in the tail create exceptional grip and effortless carving, enabling tight, controlled turns even in powerful surf.
Wave performance is further enhanced by optimised fin positions, offering increased drive, grip, and control through bottom turns and off-the-top manoeuvres. Additional Vee through the board improves comfort and smoothness in choppy conditions, while the mono-to-Vee double concave bottom shape ensures fluid transitions from entry to exit, maintaining speed throughout every turn.
The swallow tail design completes the surf-style feel, delivering tight turning arcs, strong wave grip, and a connected, flowing ride that inspires confidence in critical sections.
