The standard high modulus pre-impregnated carbon construction used on all Starboard Foils carbon wings and carbon masts since the Original generation.
The new ultra-high modulus carbon construction first used on the iQFoil mast. This ultra-high modulus carbon spec increases stiffness for more control and maximum performance.
The ultimate carbon spec. Exotic, exclusive, expensive. A limited run of masts from the 95cm 87° mold and the new 95cm 90° mold were built to the C600 spec. The ultimate in stability, control, power and performance. Available exclusively as an upgrade part.
In 2017, Starboard Foils introduced the Original foil collection that immediately set a new performance benchmark. This generation brought with it innovations such as the racing fuselage, the carbon/metal hybrid construction and the all-torx assembly system - innovations adopted today by most other foil brands.
In 2019, we introduced the revolutionary High Efficiency Geometry with the Plus generation. By moving the front wing forward, the tail wing could be set at a lower angle, significantly increasing flight efficiency and control.
The Evolution fuselages remove the front bulb to enhance water flow, maximise front wing efficiency and reduce drag. Your foil cuts through water smoother, faster and effortlessly.

The tail wing saddle and the mast mounting sections remain unchanged, so tail wings and masts from the Original generation and the Plus generation remain compatible.
We found G10 wings and glass fibre wings to flex too much, no matter what we tried. Flex reduces control and stability. Since thicker wings would reduce performance, we chose to make all thinner Starboard Wings in pre-preg Toray carbon. Stiffer wings equal controlled and stable flight.
Thicker wings like the Wave series sit on the opposite side of the spectrum: their thickness make them practically inflexible, so stiffness isn't an issue. Instead, we use a foam core to reduce weight and add some layers of glass to improve durability and impact resistance.
Starboard Wind foils use a saddle system for the front wing: two flat, square surfaces mate to give you the strongest, most stable and most reliable fitting system. It's a model of simplicity and efficiency. Zero torsional give, maximum stability.
